This limited Bunnahabhain 6 Year Old 2018, bottled by Elixir Distillers for the Single Malts of Scotland range, is a rare heavily peated expression crafted from just five refill hogsheads. Distilled on Islay in 2018 and matured for six years, it is bottled at 48% ABV without chill filtration or added colour. Strikingly smoky yet refined, it opens with chalky brine, lime and nettle on the nose, underpinned by dark chocolate. The palate delivers vibrant lime and salt with nettle cordial, minerality and high-cocoa chocolate laced with crystallised lime peel, leading to a long finish of lime leaf and dusty coal smoke.
