Glasgow 1770 Amarone Cask Finish is a limited-edition six-year-old single malt from The Glasgow Distillery’s Small Batch Series, showcasing bold cask experimentation and refined character. Initially matured for five years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, the whisky is then finished for over 18 months in Italian Amarone wine barriques, imparting layers of vibrant red fruit and delicate floral notes. The nose is fresh and fragrant with ripe strawberry, juicy cherry and soft toffee sweetness, while the palate delivers a smooth, indulgent profile of vanilla, rich berry fruits and confectionery sweetness. A balanced finish lingers with strawberry, vanilla cream, dark chocolate and a gentle earthy spice. Bottled at 53% ABV, with only 1,060 bottles released, this 70cl expression offers a distinctive and characterful dram.
