Dominio de las Abejas Naranja 2024 is produced in the Ojos Negros valley of Baja California, Mexico, at an elevation of 690 meters in a high desert environment shaped by significant diurnal temperature variation and arid, mineral-rich soils. The blend draws from six white varieties — Trebbiano, Sauvignon Blanc, Marsanne, Chardonnay, Colombard, and Viognier — co-fermented together on their skins, a practice that integrates the aromatic and structural contributions of each variety into a unified whole rather than assembling them after the fact. Viticulture is conducted under sustainable principles by Ricardo Michel Mata across vineyards adapted to the valley's demanding climate.

The co-fermentation proceeds with wild, ambient yeasts native to the Ojos Negros production site, with the must remaining in contact with the grape skins throughout. This extended skin maceration extracts phenolic compounds, tannin, and pigment from the white grape skins, producing the amber color and textural weight that define the orange wine style. The wine is neither fined nor filtered, preserving the full spectrum of naturally occurring compounds and allowing for the natural sediment formation noted by the producer. Enological direction is provided by Mauricio Ruiz Cantú.

The palate reflects the complexity of the co-fermented blend and the influence of the high desert terroir — dried apricot, citrus pith, and white stone fruit underpin a textural mid-palate shaped by fine, grippy tannin from the skin contact. The acidity is fresh and precise, a product of Ojos Negros's cool nights at elevation, providing structural lift through the finish. The close is dry and mineral, with a saline persistence that echoes the valley's arid, sun-exposed soils.
