95pts James Suckling

A structured, full and aromatic wine that balances freshness with power. Mineral rich and floral, with aromas of pine, mushrooms and roses. Lots of crunchy fruit on the palate, with fine, mouth-filling tannins and tart red fruit. Drink or hold.

93pts Wine Spectator

Elegant and structured, offering appealing cherry and strawberry flavors accented by orange peel and rose petal, with hints of forest floor as this finishes with refined tannins.

93pts International Wine Report

Tasting Notes

Aromatically the wine has notes of red berry fruits, Chinese five-spice, dried flowers, and damp topsoil. On the palate, it is juicy with a combination of ripened of black and red fruits, warm spices, rose petals, and youthful tannins.

About the Wine

The Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is a blend of barrels from benchmark vineyards across the region, including the Cristom Estate. Crafted with the same meticulous care as our Mt. Jefferson Cuvée and single-vineyard Pinot Noirs, this cuvée is designed to represent the broader Willamette Valley AVA. It offers a compelling expression of the vintage—elegant, balanced, and unmistakably Cristom—at a remarkable value.

About the Label

Our label pays tribute to the rich botanical heritage of the Willamette Valley, highlighting native plants that have long shaped the region’s identity—and that are also found on the Cristom Estate.

An Oregon State University study found evidence that camas was intentionally cultivated and harvested by Indigenous communities as an essential food source, reflecting thousands of years of Traditional Ecological Knowledge and stewardship in the Pacific Northwest. Trillium, with its striking symmetry and deep ties to the region’s botanical history—including early documentation during the Lewis and Clark Expedition—thrives in the shaded forest floors of the valley’s coniferous woodlands. Native violets, delicate yet resilient, are a familiar sight along streambanks and in fertile woodland meadows.

Together, these plants speak to the deep-rooted relationship between land, culture, and ecology in the Willamette Valley.

Winery Notes

Cristom Vineyards is a family-owned and operated winery that has established itself as a top producer of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the Eola-Amity Hills district of Oregon's Willamette Valley. Second-generation proprietor Tom Gerrie leads the production team, which includes long time winemaker Steve Doerner and recently arrived vineyard manager & winemaker Daniel Estrin. Each bring experience from working at top Pinot/Chardonnay producers in California: Doerner from Calera and Estrin from Littorai. Tom’s parents, Paul and Eileen Gerrie, founded the winery in 1992.
