2019 Finca Antigua Crianza Cabernet Sauvignon

From Spain’s central La Mancha region, just south of Madrid, this bold red wine boasts intense plum and blackberry aromas complemented by undertones of savory coffee and tapenade. On the palate, black and blue fruit notes emerge with an encore of vanilla and coconut. After a dry year, Spain in 2019 had a late but steady rainfall, providing vineyards with ideal ripening conditions. After harvest, the grapes were pressed and fermented in steel tanks to preserve their freshness. The wine was then aged in American oak barrels, providing peppery tobacco and smooth vanilla notes. Crafting wine since 1889, the Finca Antigua family estate is perfectly suited for farming quality indigenous and international grapes. This robust wine pairs well with steak, grilled meats, aged cheeses, and dark chocolate. It is best served slightly chilled, just below room temperature.
